Los Angeles Public Library lures teens with Manga

In an effort to lure readers aged 11 to 18, the Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) is partnering with publisher TOKYOPOP for the Manga Madness Summer Reading Club. All branches report tremendous circulation of the Japanese comics, with some facilities tripling their manga collections in response.

Club members will receive a free folder, book bag, reading log, and books marks. All branches also are buttressing the reading club with related programs.
