Librarians’ Internet Index With Half Budget

Librarians' Internet Index (LII) is with 50 percent funding cut ($200,000) for next fiscal year. The service already reduced weekly content production by half and ceased to assign Library of Congress subject headings to items, except on request for special, externally-funded projects.

Staff has gone from about 3.0 FTE to 1.5 FTE, and the director Karen Schneider, who's at ¾ time, didn't get a cost of living increase.
