Germany decided to pull out of the European search engine Quaero. In the the mega project backed by 400 million dollars the French were supposed to work on image search, while the Germans had to take care of "voice clip and sound media searches and the subsequent translation into text and other languages."
According to the latest reports from Deutsche Welle Germany is leaving Qaero and will develop its own search engine called Theseus with 1.2 billion Euros financing from the German government. To find out what went wrong read the interesting review from Pandia Search Engine News
