EM-DAT-New Disasters Database

With the new climate change, disproportional development between high tech and low tech countries, worldwide unsafe working conditions disasters have become a common part of our daily life. Resourceshelf points out to a new disaster database : EMDAT with basic data about 12,800 disasters from 1900 to the present

"The database is compiled from various sources, including UN agencies, non-governmental organizations, insurance companies, research institutes and press agencies." Disasters are searched by country, list and type. The advanced search mode will help you sort them out by region (Eastern Europe, Northern Europe) timeframe ( 1940-1940) and disaster group ( technological, geological).
