837 DVDs and video games for 17,000 were stolen from Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.
The scheme was very simple. "Maria T. Daniels, enlisted her four children to open library accounts using false names, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer, and then sold the library property to local resale shops. Daniels used 22 aliases, and her children used 70 such aliase"
Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is currently revising their borrowing policy to avoid such incidents in the future. Unfortunately more libraries will become
victims for such schemes because they have very liberal borrowing policies trying to attract as many library customers as they can.
