Ask With New Ask3D Search Technology

After Google decided to move to "Universal Search", a system that will blend search results with listings from Google News, Google Video, Images, One Box and other Google products it is expected the other search engines to follow.

To be fare I have to say that Ask has been experimenting with search results and introducing smart answers or new local search service long before Google's move to Universal Search.

Ask.com started a new Ask3D search technology with an innovative three-panel design of their search screen. Morph – Ask3D's new algorithmic content-matching and ranking technology is behind the new search technology. Simply Morph delivers the most relevant results on one page by choosing content from web pages, images, video, music clips, news etc.

For example if you search for Brooklyn on the left side of Ask's screen you can narrow or expand your search, in the middle you can see the results page and on the right there are search results for Brooklyn as images, encyclopedia entries and weather forecast.

Ask is one of my favorite search engines because they are innovative and user friendly.
