Internet Guru Predicts The End Of TV

Vinton Cerf, the co-creator of the TCP/IP protocol and one of the fathers of the Internet predicted that TV sets and TV as we know it, will disappear one day, and we will watch all our shows online.

"You're still going to need live television for certain things, like news, sporting events and emergencies," he said at the MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival, "but increasingly it is going to be almost like the iPod, where you download content to look at later. "

Eventually computers are going to replace TV sets, but I don’t see it in the near future. In my opinion, TV will still be around for a while, because we still have users who dislike computers and the Internet and they love their TV sets. The only way for TV to go away is if looking and recording an online TV show becomes a one-click or half-click operation.
