Library Link Of The Day blog, which lists interesting articles about libraries from newspapers and magazines had two posts about the future of electronic books and outsourcing sellection of books to vendors.
Last week the blog posted an article from New York Times about the future of Electronic Books and the development of Kindle, a new revolutionary wireless electronic book reader created for Amazon's book collection. I am curious to see how this works. So far, the only commercial electronic book reader from Sony is not as popular is it creators would like it to be.
The other article in Library Link Of The Day that grab my attention was from Library Journal about outsourcing collection development to library vendors. Handing 100% of your book selection to outside vendors is not a good idea, but for some libraries short of staff this might be the only option.
