Google Expands Google Transit And Adds Map Profiles

Googlle Transit is now out of Google Labs and is part of Google Maps, announced TechCrunch last week. With Google Transit you can plan your trip with public transportation from one point to another. Click on the link below to see an example with Monorail from Las Vegas

http://www.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&hl=en&saddr=3655+Las+Vegas+Blvd,+S+Las+Vegas,+NV&daddr=3475+Las+Vegas+Blvd,+S+Las+Vegas,+NV&f=d&time=&date=&ttype=dep&dirflg=r&z=15&om=1&start=0

For now Google Transit is very limited ( New York City is not included) to transportation systems in some cities in California, Florida,Hawaii, Minnesota,Nevada,Oregon,Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Washington. It is expected the service to improve and expand to other states and big cities.

In New York city I am very happy with HopStop and I strongly recommend Library Blog Buzz readers from New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington DC to give it a try.

Search Engine Land
blog also noticed that users can now create profiles for the MyMaps that they create with Google. The profiles include the user’s online maps, short biography and reviews about visited places.
