Nielsen Splits Into Nielsen Online and Nielsen Mobile

Last week Nielsen announced that it has launched two new services Nielsen Online and Nielsen Mobile.

Nielsen//NetRatings and BuzzMetrics services, which provide measurement and statistics of Internet services, online audiences, advertising, video, blogs will be part of the new Nielsen Online

The other service called Nielsen Mobile will include "Telephia, a provider of syndicated consumer research to the telecom and mobile media markets, with several existing Nielsen initiatives in the mobile market."

Nielsen provides one of the most accurate statistics and measurements of Internet use and the fact that the company is now exclusively rolling out a special service solely dedicated to mobile communications, is a sign of where Internet communications are going. In August of this year Nielsen also started HeyNielsen.com, a social application where customers can provide feedback on their favorite TV, movies, Internet activity. Nielsen, in turn, will share this info with the companies providing the service. The most active ones could than be asked to come for additional paid surveys.
