Ellyssa Kroski from the iLibrarian blog has an interesting post about Second Life. For those, who are not familiar with SecondLife, this is a virtual game ( world) created by Linden Lab that allows customers to socialize, create items, buy property, participate in presentations, conferences, visit virtual libraries ( and what not) via customized avatars.
Ellyssa Kroski’s "Quick Guide to Second Life for Librarians", gives brief description of library sites, places to visit and places to learn in Second Life, educational resources, videos and terminology.
"Over 60 colleges and universities have a virtual presence there, and are joined by more than 500 librarians. If you are just starting out in this MMOG (massively multiplayer online game), this guide should get you up and running."
