Proquest Offers Search Widget For Databases

We love widgets and have posted about them before. Proquest, one of the major database vendors also decided to create a search widget, to promote its databases. The list of databases supported by the Proquest widget is quite extensive and you can take a look here.

" ProQuest Search Widget helps your library increase visibility of licensed databases by letting you embed a ProQuest search box on any institutional web page. You pick the databases to search, and can pre-populate the search with specific search terms – whatever meets the research need you are trying to support."

To create a Proquest Search Widget you also have to specify the proxy URL, keywords to be displayed, location of logo, border and background color.
