A Study Reveals Best US Virtual Libraries

If you are interested in Emerging Technologies and Web 2.0, and I imagine you are, if you are reading this blog, there is a superb report written by Michelle McLean
"Serving the sphere: public libraries serving their virtual users.", which describes all the leading libraries and organizations in the United States who provide cutting edge Internet services. The study is available on the D-List archive.

Michelle McLean is an Australian librarian, who was able to obtain a Ramsay Reid scholarship from the State Library of Victoria in 2006 to visit all the innovative libraries in the US.

In her report she also documents a visit to the 2007 Computers in Libraries conference with detailed posts from all attended workshops.

I am very interested in how libraries transform services in the digital age and I read all the 58 pages of the survey. I also plan to read the detailed descriptions of Michelle McLean visits to all US public libraries, documented in detail in her personal blog " Connecting Librarian"
