Yahoo Flags Infected Websites With Search Scan

Yahoo is obviously in a creative mood, because they have just announced another original idea – filtering of infected websites.

From now on users who find websites with viruses, spyware or phishing through Yahoo will be warned, not to open the sites. Web pages with malware will be completely erased from Yahoo's search results

Yahoo is using an integrated version of McAfee's SiteAdvisor software for the filtering and " calls its version of the service SearchScan, and plans to turn it on by default for all users in the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Search Scan's filtering will eventually be implemented in all of the countries, where Yahoo is used.

I think that customers will find this idea very useful, and I suspect that very soon the other major search engines will develop their own search filtering services.
