Google Cloud Storage, free of charge, will now start automatically encrypts all data before it is written to disk and will automatically decrypt the data when it is used by an authorized user.

In an effort to promote its digital media, Overdrive announced plans for a second "Big Library Read" program, where every participating library from September 16th to September 30th will have unlimited copies of “Nancy Clancy, Super Sleuth” in both eBook and audiobook formats.

New York State Government: New Database Details Business Before Agencies, Authorities(INFOdocket)
To increase transparency, New York State started a new site called Project Sunlight Database that "has been collecting and organizing data since January 1, 2013 and in the almost eight months since its launch, has documented meetings from more than 75 state agencies, authorities, public benefit corporations and both the State and City University of New York systems".

Didn't have time to play with this new Google feature yet, but it sounds very cool. The only problem is that you will have to have all of your reservations,purchases and everything else on Gmail, Google Calendar or Google+.
